Well, it's been a hectic week having to invigilate exams in our college. For the past three days I have been invigilating for both morning and afternoon sessions and finally today is the last. We usually get off work by 4.15pm but the exam ends at 4.30pm everyday. Hm........ wonder if we can claim O.T. for that?
"In your dreams!" replied my collegue.
Well I wouldn't mind dreaming of the extra cash rather than the frightful vampire dream that i had previously. But nonetheless we are given some allowances for invigilating. Better than none i suppose.
The internet connection is still not up and going yet. I know, I know, you people must be irritated as to why this girl is still yapping about the internet connection at her work place.The lots of you might be saying:"It's already been a week, give it up already!" But I can't. Those maintenance people are not here to repair it yet??!!!?? Lucikly there is still the unit's computer to go online and therefore I am able to post all of this up. I'm also busy invigilating as i've mention at the begining of this post so i've got no time to bother about the internet connection, if not you'll see more of the word 'BORED' posted up here.
Happy Birthday!
I've just had my birthday a few days ago. Hah...... I'm not going to reveal my age here, you can keep on guessing. ^-^ It was a lonely birthday cause I was in Melaka and working. Lonely as in no parties and gathering with friends. However I did received a lot of smses from my family, friends & collegues. That however had already warmed my heart.
Year by year as we grow older, the anticipation of celebrating birthdays seems to get less and less. To me now is naturally just like any other days. Of course when you received the wishes you fell good and knows that people still cares, but another part of me seems to feel shy as birthdays are more for kids. On the other hand, if people totally ignore your birthday you feel down cause you feel like no one notices you! ........What a confusing thought to have during your birthday!
At this point of time I am satisfied with just accepting it gracefully and let the pondering to a latter stage of my life. Besides i'm only .................. ah hah!....... manage to catch myself there. Phew!!!!! That was a close one.

'The Four' (TVB Series)
I am currently watching ‘The Four’, a Cantonese series by TVB. The story revolves around four very different individuals whom are chosen to take up the position as imperial guards (a.k.a. investigator) of a particular department that is righteous in upholding the law among the society. As usual their arch enemy would be a powerful and influential character which in this case is the prime minister of the country. Hm………. doesn’t this resemble a particular situation that is occurring now? Anyway, this evil kenevil prime minister is entrusted by the emperor and therefore to go against him would be like digging one’s own grave.
Let us move on to the four interesting individuals. They are each given a name according to their characteristics. The first is Loveless (wu qing – by Raymond Lam), he was named by a monk after his entire family was killed due to a misunderstanding of two families. He was the only survivor but was crippled by the family’s enemy. Therefore throughout the movie he sits in an extremely innovative wheel chair in which he could maneuver easily and has secret compartment for his darts as his main weapon and from his name I bet you are able to predict his personality. Loveless is considered the brain of the group as he has been educated since young of every possible thing on earth and is skillful in martial arts. However he is a cold fish and presumes everyone as incompetent fools.
The next to be recruited is called Metal Hands (tie shou – by Kenneth Ma). He got this name as the main characteristic of his kung fu is his super powerful punch. Metal Hands’s character however is the opposite of Loveless as he is very friendly and dreams of nothing but to uphold justice and righteousness. He is more of a straightforward and action guy and does not give much thought of the consequences or reasons.
The third would be Follow Mission (zhui ming - . Actually I don’t know how to translate his name but the meaning is there so apologies to all. Well this guy’s character is very lively. I guess he is the one that sends the whole series into a lighter mood. His famous skill is the shadow leg and has very good (heng gong). He has a lot of tricky ideas up his sleeves as he was a conman before being selected as the imperial guards.
The last would be Cold Blood (leng xue – Ron Ng). He was previously an assassin who killed without mercy and was able to kill at lightening speed. He lost both of his parents when he was young and was raised by the wolves in the forest. He had therefore acquired the skill of tracking down a person in the forest by his scent. This was what made him an asset to the Justice department and be named as Cold Blood.
Well after a brief description of all four of the main characters in it then it is up to you guys and gals to go watch the series. It shows how these four very different individuals are able to corporate and iron out their differences by complementing on each others skills in the process of solving the difficult cases. As for the conclusion, I guess all of you would have guessed that is justice would prevail all.

The internet at workplace. (part 2)
It is a fine weather outside, the sun is shining and there is the occasional breeze that blows through. Although fine on the outside it was however gloomy and dull for me inside the office. This is the third day I’m at the staff room with no internet connection. The most frustrating thing is that not the whole unit is unable to connect to the net but only a few certain places and of course mine inclusive. I have already reported the situation but up till now there is still no action taken. Shall I wait until my body decays here and may I rest in peace before any repair work is done? No…. my body will not rest in peace if that happens. What is one supposed to do to get some things done around here? Bloody incompetent fools.
Damn……and double damn……..

WHAT ELSE? Do I move on forward to pick up grains of sands at my place instead of sweeping to occupy my time?

The internet connection is still out at my work place. As a place of educational institution you would have thought we have at least the basic necessity to fullfill our job requirements. How are we to do any work if there is no internet connection? It takes days or maybe weeks to have it repaired and then we are being reprimanded for not carrying out our task well.
I know some of you might be wondering shouldn’t a teacher be teaching rather than get hooked online? We also use the net for work and information search. However this week so happens to be study week therefore we have more free time on our hands to actually surf the net for materials or do some reading to improve or gain extra knowledge …………………………….what? doesn’t sound convincing?
Alright, alright, I admit we also use them for chatting, palying games, log in to friendster/facebook and etc., but hey……. for your information, we are humans too and it isn’t too much to ask for occasionally checking mail or msn with friends of collegue. Of course all this has to be in moderation as long as it does not interfere with our work, as the saying goes ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Besides it also enables one to relax and be relieved of stress especially in our field which we have to deal with different personalities and attitude of students almost every day.
Isn’t this an information technology era? If so why are the connections so poor and this is supposed to be a Pre-U educational institute. What rubbish and irony of the situation! No wonder the public has less confidence of the local education.

Implications of a dream......
This actually happened to me a few days ago and I meant to post it up immediately but there was no connection at my work place so it was postponed up until now. Well so here goes my story:
I had a sleepness night the other day and had not encountered it for about a year. Usually I will sleep through the night soundly without any dreams and wake up the next morning feeling fresh and energetic. However, that particular night, I was unable to sleep. I lay wide awake in my bed until the wee hours of the morning then only gradually drifted off to sleep. I guess I only had about forty winks as I was awoken again by the morning prayers broadcasted from the mosque. I was used to the sound of morning prayers and it usually has no effect or whatsoever on me but I was particularly sentitive to it that day. My lids were heavy therefore I tried to get back to sleep and this time I slowly drifted to dreamland………….or should I say scary dreamland.
In the dream I was unable to define where I was as the place seems unfamiliar to me but I know I have a car and it was somewhere near a market and a park. The park was where I parked my car. I was at the market and all of a sudden there were vampires chasing me. I can’t see them or their faces neither that I know if they are of human form but it was just a gut feeling that there were vampires chasing me waiting to turm me into one.
To be exact, in my dream there were only 2 vampires and me in the picture. I’m not sure where everyone else has gone to but who cares? I only thought of running. One of them was chasing me while the other was still on the verge of turning into a vampire. I had to freeze the other in order to prvent it from turning into one. The weird thing was that the 2nd vampire was almost the size of a fish so I was able to locate an ice box with loads of ice in it and dumped him in (I assume it was a he).
Throughout the dream I was practically running here and there to escape the first vampire, find an icebox, freeze the second bugger so that it would not turn into their kind, and carrying the heavy icebox to load it into my car and take off to a safe location. (busy huh?) As I was loading the icebox into the car the vampire closed in on me, I knew I didn’t have a chance but still trying hard to get myslf out of the sticky situation. In the midst of deciding whether to fight off the vampire with all I’ve got or just to drop the icebox and run to save my pretty a**, I woke up from my dream.
I wasn’t sweating but my heart was beating rapidly. All energy seems to be seeped out of me as I felt lethargic. I felt drowsy that whole day during work but luckily there wasn’t any class conducted for that whole week. Hm…….. people say that dreams are actually a message to us from the subconscious mind. I wonder what mine is telling me. Any dream interpretor out there to help me out?
